All Out of Blog

Chalk up the recent silence to me having absolutely nothing to talk about. I fear I may be blogged out ... Or self censoring to the point of no return. Either way I've been staring at the screen for over twenty minutes now wondering what to write. Should I write about doing absolutely nothing constructive today, or do I write about finally having that we're both sorry moment with my older sister last night? Do I talk about ignoring the fact that today was my stepfather's birthday and that I meant to call, told myself I was going to call and ended up not calling? Or do I just tell you the mundane stuff like how I cleaned the bird cage, and how the hamster almost took a turn for the worse when Octavia knocked her cage off the dresser?

This reminds me of a time back in high school when Brenda and I would get frustrated to the point of no return and just scream ourselves silly with the excuse, "Tension breaker. Had to be done."

Perhaps I should take myself outside and scream at the top of my lungs. Then again, my neighbors might come out and look at me funny.

***** Addendum *****

I did one better than simply picking up a phone. Instead I opted to deliver the birthday greeting in person while KC was at a birthday party. Belated is far better than never.

Frustration is a bad thing, best let out - though public screaming may not help long term. ;)

It's good that you got that moment with your sister, that's something major (and worth mentioning, see you did have something to write).

It'd be very sad to see you stop blogging, though as an irregular poster, I can't argue that daily updates are a must. If you want to skip, do so.

It's too late for screaming anyway. And one mustn't make a nuisance of themselves with their neighbors ... Guess it's a good thing my tear ducts are still working. Ignore me, I'm having a one person pity party and shouldn't be allowed near a computer.

Ignore a lady in tears? Not I...

Pity parties should be shared with your friends, at least so they can put an arm round your shoulders.

Nicely laid out common thoughts. I copied your subscription box from bloglet. Thanks.

Glad to hear that you have mended the fence with your sister, but may I suggest that allowing another gap in the fence by ignoring someone's birthday (the only day of the year that is all about that person) does not a strong fence make...A day late is better than not at all; anytime you take the time to let someone you care about know they are loved and remembered is a worthy moment in time. There are regrets enough in life, don't add to them when you know what you should do.

And what's wrong with a blog holiday? Creativity needs nurtuing and if a rest is needed, take one. Let your internal dialogue take you where you need to go.

As Always, your biggest fan...

Orb ... Just *how* long are your arms anyway?

Shirazi ... Thanks for the compliment and welcome. I hope you'll find something interesting enough around here to want to come back.

Mom ... I know. You're correct - as always.

Blog holiday? I may just have to think on that ... I guess we'll see.

Any chance getting a pic of the pups yet. I'm still waiting to do the cover story.

I have to run KC to a bday party in a little bit ... I wish they had scheduled it a little earlier or yesterday for that matter but that's so sad and too bad for me. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with myself for two hours while I'm waiting ...

(Worst thing yet - is the party is at the worst place in the world - that non-Italian run Italian place I worked at for all four years of high school. Ugh. I'm bound to run into people I don't want to see.)

Orbling said...

Oh, average or slightly longer... Did think about mentioning the stretching I'd need to do - but the metaphors would've snapped with the strain.

Non-Italian run Italian place.... That's illegal isn't it? ;)

KC said...

Orb ... Average or slightly longer? Well, my mind just fell into the gutter on that one. (And I'll leave it at that.)

As for non-Italians running an Italian place, it should be considered criminal. It's a total misrepresentation!

Orbling said...

Probably trades descriptions violation.

Mind you, I often say I'm cooking Italian... I seem to get away with it. Next on the Italian cookery agenda is baking some piadina. Wonder how that will go...

You'll have to forward me a picture so I can offer up my two cents.

If it goes well, then I'll take some pictures. It's a good job I use digital and don't get them developed. The developers would think I had a food obsession. ;)

KC said...

My developers usually wonder if I stock pile all my film to develop at one time. (Bad habit I have for waiting until I have at least five or more rolls to get done.)

Orbling said...

Yeah, we're just as bad for that here. Photography is my dad's main hobby, and he takes sooo many films when anything happens - so that compounds the problem.

Thank God I went digital. So much more convenient, providing the quality is up to it. Think I overblew my budget on the camera, cost me over £1k, that's about $1900.. :S

When it comes to digital cameras, I have chosen to remain in the ice age. I prefer my Nikon N60 with my bazooka lena for taking all my pictures.

I have yet to date found a digital camera thank can turn out the quality shots my N60 can.

And since I already have a small fortune invested in that camera, I'm not in any position to even think about buying a top of the line digital which could potentially change my mind ... Just not now.

Which reminds me, I haven't shot any film lately. Must get to it.

The D60 is a good camera. My dad swears by Nikons, though he sticks with old ones - he doesn't like any automatic stuff in them. Nikon do some decent digitals, but to get the same quality as the D60, you'd have to spend a lot of cash.

As long as the photos are taken and shared, it's all good. :)

I agree with your Dad. I like monkeying with all the controls myself and taking the shot I want, not the one the camera wants. Yay for your Dad! :)

I'd like to share one of the (shhhh) top secret project I've been working on, I'm really quite impressed with how well it's turned out. (Now I just need someone to pat me on the back for it.)

Orbling said...

Yeah my digital is a decent SLR, easy to shove it in to fully manual. Though I need a faster lens for some stuff I like to do. Can't be bothered lugging a tripod through the woods.

I'm a dab hand at patting, just put your back within reach. ;)

Hi, Stacey! Brian sent me...

Kudos on the making up with your sister, though I haven't read enough to know what was going on, if it's here. And kudos on making up the birthday wishes. Family is a great thing - even with one like mine I feel it's true. :)

And thanks for the memory! My buddies and I would do the same "tension breaker!" We'd also deliberately, as a group, suddenly fall down walking through the halls, laughing like mad and making everyone look at us funny! Odd, how that doesn't transfer well into adulthood...

Nice to meet ya!

Veda ... And yet it's no less tempting is it?

:)

Orb ... Anytime.

Oh that's why girls do that......

I'd always wondered. :S

Oh and, :D
