I don't think I could handle being pregnant for that long. 9 months was long enough for me ...
22 months is a long time, but on the upside, their menstrual cycle is 3-4 months long, so they get less cack with that.
The downside seems to be that the birth weight of baby elephants is something 250-350lbs... :S
Bet they all hope they've got child bearing hips...
