In My Room

Since it seems I mention my penchant for the art of sleeping on a somewhat daily basis, what better way to sign off for the night than giving you all a glimpse of the one room in my house that is my absolute favorite ...

I love you double pillow top mattress.

That really is quite a nice bed isn't it? Looks very comfortable, I always have 4 pillows on my bed - I tend to lay diagonally on it, so it's nice to be able to roll a fair distance without running out of pillow. :)

There's a song about that you know by a group called Phish ...

It's been a while since I've heard it, but it goes something like this ...

"When you're here I sleep lengthwise, but when you're gone, I sleep diagonal in my bed ..."

Like I said, it's been a while, so if anyone out there disputes my take on the lyrics, please be kind ... I haven't heard this song since college. And that was like (counting on fingers) longer ago than you need to know about.

Very true lyrics...

Sharing a double is always tricky till you get used to it again. Takes me ages to come to prefer the company, to the extra space. ;)

I do like my bed, even if I don't spend that much time in it. My brother and his g/f have had it the last couple of nights, and will tomorrow - maybe I'll get it back by Tuesday...

I don't mind the company in the slightest unless I come to the conclusion that they like my double pillow top mattress far better than they like me ... Sharing is good. Being outdone by your mattress is not.

I hope you get your bed back soon. I can't imagaine where your sleeping - if you are - that would be more comfortable than what you're used to.

I do like the company, but mainly for the going to sleep and waking up moments. For the bit inbetween the benefits aren't noticed, but the costs are. ;)

The trouble is I've had a double bed for a very long time, since my teens, and didn't share it regularly until I had had it for some years. You get used to the extra room, single beds are a right pain these days.

I have one at the moment, though I should return to my normal bed as of tomorrow. Went to bed at 8.30am this morning; stupid clocks stole an hour off me (we're 6 hours ahead of you until next weekend), and I was decorating cakes, washing up and catching up on my blogs all night. But I got up at 1pm, so not a particularly bad sleep.

Believe it or not I'm a good sleeper, just haven't had time recently. :S

Anyhow, I'd rather chat to you via these little exchanges than get extra sleep. ;)

Hah!

Stacey = 1 Sleep = 0

Though I'm still trying to comprehend the six hours ahead thing ... I thought it was five?

I should warn you that I am one of those people who are forever obsessing about time changes and things of that nature ... So telling me the why's and what not's are only bound to cast me into more confusion ...

Happy return to your own bed day!

Damn ... Forgot something!

(Really do hate that when that happens, as I always remember at the exact second of pressing the publish button.)

I was going to say that I agreed 100% on the whole blog comment exchange thing.

(We know return you to your regularly scheduled comments.)

LOL, I'm *always* doing that. My short term memory sucks (in stark contrast to my long term memory that rocks, yay me), and it has a penchant for remembering everything that it forgot the second after the latest it can arrive back in the concious area of my mind.

Leave the house, remember what you forgot; get on the bus, remember what you left at home; go to bed, remember what you needed to do (usually something that requires getting dressed, ie. taking the trash out); writing a letter, forget whole purpose until it's sent....

Ruddy head, I should get a new one. Wonder if I can get a shipping reduction if I get your new foot at the same time....

I obsess about time changes, daylight saving time is such a stupid idea. Franklin really dropped the ball on that invention. Midnight and midday are celestial events, why we think we can shift them about I don't know.

Britain is 6 hours ahead of EST (Eastern Standard Time) for this week only, as the US moves up to their summer DST a week after we do. EST is usally 5 hours ahead of us, whether we are on BST (British Summer Time) [the fake!] or GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).

Stacey will always win when compared to sleep.

While you're at it, grab me a memory stick as well ... I walked out of the house the other day to take my nephew to his house (15 minutes away) to realize as I was 3/4 of the way there, that I'd left a candle burning on top of the table in the living room.

Oy ... Had to employ that lead foot of mine to get back before the whole place went up ... Not funny.

Needless to say, I usually have a rule about candles. I don't burn them as I can never remember to blow them out.

Stupid, stupid Stacey!

NB (What does this mean anyway? Though I am guessing it's the equivalent of my PS)

I heard on the news tonight that Sunday we go back to the whole daylight something or other time ... Damn. It's going to be a week of pure torture I tell you!

Fire is not something I care for, much less within my house - so if there are any candles on, I keep my eye more or less fixated on them till they're out....

Definitely not worth burning your house down and losing all your photos for a little attractive lighting... :S

NB. is a Latin abbreviation, not exactly the same as PS, but similar.

PS = Post Scriptum - "after writing" - something added that was overlooked from the original text.
NB = Nota Bene - "note well" - an addendum, footnote, note, any addition clarifying a point, or adding something of interest.

And yes, you get to have a 23 hour day as well next weekend.... :S
