I'm thinking of dedicating my garden completely to poppies this year. Not quite sure yet, but I've been nose deep in my gardening books for the past two days. I think tomorrow since I'm off for the holiday, I will go seed shopping. Oh the excitement!
It has been hard to comment on certain blogs recently, including mine. Persistence normally gets there in the end. :)
If you're dedicating the whole garden to poppies, I hope the army doesn't treat it like they treat ditchweed.
Do you know the US government gets the army to regularly clear patches of ditchweed all over the country (even though it's a native common weed). Just because it's cousin is illegal - you would've thought they would apply this to poppies too.... 8-)
Perhaps I will post more photos later of last years flowers, for really they are all the incentive I need to begin the garden planning once again ...
Glad you got through all of Blogger's issues to leave me word that you are alive and well. Always good news I say ... :)
Orb ... The only thing that treats my flowerbed like your soldiers treat ditchweed is my neighbors dog Tober. And yet, I can't be mad at him as he is quite the old dog, who likes to come visit when he wants a pat and a gentle hand.
"your soldiers"? - US ones are most certainly not mine, and I'll not be associated with any soldiers. ;)
Animals digging up stuff in the garden gets on my nerves, ofcourse you can't tell them off, although we do shout at the squirrels - they are attrocious for digging stuff up. They're always eating flowers! Tulips and crocus are impossible to grow as the flowers get deheaded instantly. They even try to kill the trees (they killed an old Eldar we had over a few years - no more Elderflower wine...).
I don't think I've seen dogs roaming, only cats... They tend to sit on stuff...
a) Yeah, I knew what you meant - just using the opportunity to state opposition to soldiery things.
b) LOL, they have too much food as it is - that's what makes them so abundant. They'll choose whatever they like most to eat, flowers seem to be a top favourite. Personally I think they are just malicious vandals who do it for kicks. ;)
I see I'm going to have to break out my scanner again this morning. I have a picture I took from last summer that I think you might just enjoy.
By all means, enjoy the opportunity to have an opposing position. I tend to enjoy those steeped in the diplomacy of being smart alecs, wise guys and all around pains in the nether region. Keeps life interesting ...

All the magnolia trees around here are starting to flower, it's looking mighty pretty.
I took a bunch (about a 100) pictures around my nan's garden today, lots of crocus and daffodils, and lovely cherry blossom. :)
I'm waiting for the bluebells and then I'll be in heaven.

Stop being a pain the in nether regions ... I didn't mean yours as in yours, but more like yours as in comment.
As far as squirrels go, they're cute. Have you thought about leaving out food for them so they don't cause havoc to your garden?

Don't worry, I won't make a habit of it. ;)
By all means, don't make me that sort of promise ...
